Fun and Glamourous Kids Toys

April 22nd, 2013

My niece is turning three, and I’ve been looking for quality kids toys to give this cute, soon to be glamorous, tot. Here are some of my to choices:

1) A Radio Flyer Bouncing Horse. I had one of these as a  child, and I loved it. I think she would really enjoy it, and it is certainly a “10″ on the cuteness scales!

2) Izzy Pirate Accessories. My niece is also a huge fan of the Jake and the Neverland Pirates kids TV show on the Disney channel. She often dresses up and pretends to be Izzy, the cute girl pirate on the show. There are loads of great suggestions of cool Jake toys here: http://www.squidoo.com/jake-and-the-neverland-pirates-toys-and-games

radioflyer3) A child size wheelbarrow. I also know she loves to garden with her mom, and these seem like extremely cute and easy to use tools for children to have. I know her mom wouldn’t buy her one, so maybe I’ll splurge and pick up this cute kids wheelbarrow for her instead!

How about you? Which is your favorite?

Getting Ready for Glamour Camping Trip

March 13th, 2013

bigtentMe and my girlfriends are planning on a glamping trip soon (a glamour camping trip) and I’m looking at some possible tents for us to use. We really want a big tent, and I found a few here: largest family camping tents. But some of my friends want to go hiking, and want the ease of an ultralight weight tent instead. They are looking at this site here: http://www.squidoo.com/best-lightweight-backpacking-tents.

What do you prefer? Large, comfy tents are light to carry smaller tents? We have quite a debate going on and I’m not sure what we will end up with… however, I am sure we will have a great trip regardless!

Be Healthy and Happy In The New Year!

December 29th, 2012

New Years resolutions are upon us, and I’ve been setting some of my own and reading up on things not necessarily related to fashion.

One major change I’ve been considering is trying out a raw food diet starting January 1st. There are so many people I know who claim that raw foods has given them a substantial boost in energy and helped clear up their skin, make their hair super healthy and more.

However, I haven’t the slightest clue where to start. I did find this useful page discussing many of the raw food books that are available and the basics of learning how to eat raw foods. It seems the biggest challenge for me is going to find easy to prepare and delicious recipes. Many raw food recipes I’ve come across seem to be quite labor intensive or take a long time (hours to soak seeds and such).

Anyway, I’ll be starting eating a mostly (80%) raw food diet come January 1st. Wish me luck! :)
